A 38-year-old woman is charged with two counts of first-degree arson after causing a fire at a well-known dim sum restaurant in Chinatown. Rachel Hammer appeared in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Thursday after being arrested by police on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Detective Unit said the investigation started on Christmas Eve when two people burglarized a home in the Hockinson neighborhood on 119th Northeast. The suspects stole firearms and then set the house on fire.

A teen in Sherwood shot himself in the head with a handgun early Monday morning, and witnesses told police he had been playing Russian roulette.
